Logon procedure, PETE Network Drives, and Network Printes:

1.     Change your Paws password, if you have not done this recently, or if it is not a new paws account. If you recently registered, or just transferred to PETE then expect a 3-4 days delay before your Paws_Id is transferred to LSU Domain.

2.     How to Logon: Say your paws e-mail address is: yourPawsId@lsu.edu, then after your new paws password takes effect (up to 24 hours since change of password), you can logon, as follows:

a.      In the User-Name field, enter: yourPawsId@lsu or lsu\PawsId

b.     In the password field, enter: yourPawsPassword

3.     Once logged in, map your network drives and connect to network printers as follows. This must be done every time you sit at a different PC.

a.   Map letter S: to \\PETE0001\Shared

b.  Map letter P: to \\PETE0001\Courses

c. H: drive should automatically be mapped on a folder at LSU or College of Engineering server.

d.   Connect to the UG Computer Lab printer as: \\PETE1\LabPrinter (Pass_code needed)

f. Connect to printer BB: as \\PETE1\BB (Located in PFTH 1413)

e. Connect to printer DD: as \\PETE1\DD (Located in PFTH 3433)

f.   Connect to the Mail Room copier/printer as: \\lsu-gsprint\CM4277 (Pass_code needed)

g.   When you login under LSU domain you get a very small H: drive. Senior PETE students, graduate students, faculty, and staff can get extra space on our departmental server, to be mapped as M: drive (M means “Mine”!).

4.     If you have special project needs to use a shared, please supply the following information to Randy Rasti:

a.      Name: Last, First, MI

b.     Paws Id /Paws e-mail address:

c.     Purpose of the project

d.     After set up, you can use it by mapping M: to \\PETE1\Ug\yourPawsId

Note: "Ug", above, is replaced by "Grads" for graduate students, and "FacStf" for faculty and staff.
